An introduction to foster care

When a child is removed from their home, their world can feel uncertain and overwhelming. In those difficult moments, they need to know they are safe, valued, and cared for. Through foster care, God calls His people to step into that uncertainty with compassion, grace, and hope.

As a foster parent with Bethany Christian Services, you can provide a loving, Christ-centered home where a child experiences stability and support while their family works toward healing and reunification. By caring for children and coming alongside families during a challenging season, you become part of God's work of restoration—helping bring hope, healing, and the possibility of a stronger future.

This short video series will help you better understand the foster care journey and what to expect along the way:

  • What is foster care?

  • Who are the kids in foster care?

  • Who are foster parents?

  • What will foster parenting be like?

  • What are the steps to becoming a foster parent?

You’ll hear current foster parents and a foster care alum share their experiences.
